Leica Camera Group announced record-breaking results for its fiscal year 2021/2022, which ran from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 20,22. The turnover was up 16% to 450million euros, the highest result in over 100 years.
Matthias Harsch CEO of Leica Camera AG said that the company’s return on sales has increased substantially. Leica’s international revenue growth has been robust despite the Covid-19 pandemic, which had an impact on the supply chain as well as the retail sector in the last year.
Officials said that the growth of the global sales network and the retail network has been a key driver. Nearly 100 boutiques under the Leica mono-brand brand are currently in operation. Matthias Harsch stated: “We believe our products meet consumer demand for high-quality sustainable brands. Our new product category will stimulate enthusiasm among our young target audience for the world Leica photography.”
Leica has announced a strategic partnership in camera development with Xiaomi. This is a solidification of its position in emerging technologies like image processing, image quality tuning, and computational image processing. Leica and Xiaomi will collaborate on technical issues to improve smartphone photography’s quality and performance.
