Dmitry Rogozin, Roscosmos CEO, stated in Telegram that the state corporation was ready to work with China on the lunar program. He wrote that Roscosmos is open to enhancing cooperation with China’s National Space Administration in the exploration and development moon.
Dmitry Rogozin’s words were in response to statements made by NASA’s head in an interview with Bild. Bill Nelson, who expressed concern about China’s space program, said that China could one day land on the Moon and claim it as its territory. Roscosmos doesn’t share the American concerns and sees no military overtones to the Chinese lunar program.
Roscosmos (CNSA) and Roscosmos agreed to a cooperation plan for 2018-2022 in November 2017. It contains six sections that deal with the study of deep space and the Moon, as well as space science and related technologies. To implement the program, subgroups of working were created. Roscosmos CEO Rogozin, and Zhang Kejian, head of China National Space Administration signed a memorandum to encourage cooperation and to implement a joint project for the International Scientific Lunar Station.
