Modern aircraft are remarkable reliable. As the July 1st incident shows, they can fly even with a hole in your skin. The Airbus A380 flew for 14 hours and made it safely from Dubai to Brisbane, Australia.

 

According to reports, the skin collapsed due to a tire explosion that occurred during flight. Although it isn’t known when exactly the “hole” formed it is believed that it occurred around 45 minutes into flight.

It was initially scary. The flight attendants quickly realized there was something more. They immediately called the cockpit em>. Andrew Morris, a professor of English at Loughborough University, UK, posted a description of the incident on Twitter. They quickly returned to their normal routine. They were calm and assured that it wasn’t a catastrophe em>.

The plane landed in normal operation at the destination airport.
