Modern aircraft are remarkable reliable. As the July 1st incident shows, they can fly even with a hole in your skin. The Airbus A380 flew for 14 hours and made it safely from Dubai to Brisbane, Australia.
According to reports, the skin collapsed due to a tire explosion that occurred during flight. Although it isn’t known when exactly the “hole” formed it is believed that it occurred around 45 minutes into flight.
