City Transformer, an Israeli startup, has granted permission for the CT-1 folding electric car to be used on public roads. It was displayed at the Munich Motor Show in September 2021. Now it is known that sales will start in 2024.
The car will cost 16 000 euros. However, if the owner pre-orders a folding mini-electric vehicle, it will only cost 3.5 thousand Euros. A 150 euro deposit is required when applying.
The car’s main feature is its changeable body width. This makes it an ideal choice for residents living in large cities with narrow streets or crowded parking lots. The CT-1 can drive and park in places that the small Smart cannot. The body’s width is 1000mm in a compact configuration. However, while driving, it can grow by up to 1480mm.
For greater stability, wheels with protective wings extend from their bodies. The CT-1 is compact in size, but offers a 2-seater saloon with air conditioning and an airbag system. You can accelerate up to 90 km/h with a small electric motor. Your power reserve is 180 km. The curb weight of the vehicle is 590 kg.
The car also received 1.5000 structural elements, whereas an ordinary passenger car has more than 10 000.
