Geely officially revealed its first electric pickup truck – it is the Radar RD6. Details have not been revealed by the company. The full-fledged launch will take place in China on September 9. Prices will also be announced, but it is becoming obvious that the Radar RD6 pickup truck will be affordable.
Although this is not a Cybertruck competitor, the car is marketed as a vehicle for young drivers. The RD6 will be cheaper than the Tesla pickup truck or other American electric pickups. The basic version with a drive to rear axle will produce around 200 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive version will produce about 400 horsepower.
Although the dynamics are not great, it is sufficient for such a car. The top version can accelerate to 100 km/h in just 6 seconds. Maximum power reserve is 600 km.
The RD6’s design is not unusual. It looks almost like a pickup truck. Even the handles on the doors are “analogue”, and they look very ordinary. The traditional location for the charging hatch is where the filler neck is located.
Geely will be offering a variety of accessories, including a camping fridge and surfboards, judging by these photos.
