Nikon, a Japanese company, has responded to news reports about the imminent end of production of digital SLR cameras.
According to Nikkei Asia Review, the company will be moving away DSLRs and favoring mirrorless cameras with interchangeable lenses amid increasing competition from smartphones.
Nikon’s international website now has a response statement:
A media report about the end of development for Nikon SLR cameras was published. The media article is speculation and Nikon has not commented on it. Nikon continues to make, sell, and service digital SLR cameras. Nikon appreciates your continued support.
