LG’s Rollable smartphone was introduced in January 2012. It features a scroll screen and is unique among smartphones. This was a few months prior to the company’s tragic decision to exit the smartphone market. The network then posted a video that demonstrated the Rollable prototype.
The video clearly shows that the mechanism responsible for stretching the screen works as intended. The canceled prototype can be viewed as well. It has a block with cameras on the rear panel. However, data about the processor or memory are not available.
The source claims that the Android 12L operating software could be suitable for this device. This OS is currently being created for devices such as the Z Fold3 or Surface Duo 2. It might be useful for Rollable. It is currently unknown if any company will create an analog of the LG Rollable.
It was reported earlier that LG continued to update its smartphones to Android 12, and promised to update to Android 13.
