Xiaomi has updated its EOL (End of Life Products) list, which includes two ex-flagships Redmi K20 Pro and K20 Pro. These phones will not be updated again. We are not talking about the regular firmware updates to fix various errors but also Android security updates.

Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 Pro were released in May 2019. Xiaomi’s policy is that most smartphones get firmware and security updates for two years. The time has come to end support of ex-flagships. However, they are still functional. Xiaomi is often criticised for not providing software support for its products for a long time, especially when compared to Apple and Samsung.

Xiaomi also announced today that it will cease working on MIUI beta firmwares for Redmi K30 5G and Redmi K30i5G, Redmi K30i5G, Redmi K30i5G, Redmi K30i5G, Redmo K30i, Redmi K30i, Redmi K30i, Redmi K30i, Xiaomi 10, Xiaomi 10 Pro and Redmi K30 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite. They will all continue to get final updates for a longer period of time but no new features will be implemented in MIUI as of today. These models will not be receiving MIUI 13.5. These eight smartphones are actually eligible for inclusion on the EOL list. However, this won’t happen anytime soon.
