The release date for the next generation CPU could be moved forward if the new AMD Ryzen 7000 desktop processors were available earlier in the autumn. The market launch should take place on September 15, 2022, according to an internal AMD presentation.
A roadmap was released by the US chipmaker a few weeks back. It included information about its Zen 4 and Zen 5 schedules, as well as a Ryzen 7000 launch in fall 2022. Matching motherboards with AM5 sockets will be released only between September and December. The long-term is sensible due to persistent delivery bottlenecks. However, AMD appears to have already agreed to an internal date.
Local AMD Event confirms previous release date
Recently, an image taken at an unspecified AMD Asia event revealed that the target date for sales is September 15, 2022. The Zen 4 CPUs could be available in the late summer, right before their actual release window. This date will not be met in all cases. It is recommended that the launch be done early to compete with Intel (12th core generation) as well as to close the 1.5 year gap with Zen 3 chips (Ryzen 5500). . The portfolio was completed last year with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D. AMD’s next milestone will be achieved in the coming months.
Insiders claim it has four Zen 4 processors, Ryzen 9 7950X (via Tweet), Ryzen 9 7900X Ryzen 7 7800X and Ryzen 5 7600X. These processors should be identical to their predecessors in terms the number of cores they offer. They will have six to 16 cores depending on the model. Before they are officially presented, it is important to be skeptical about rumors of this nature.
