Samsung may be dropping the depth sensor from its Galaxy A line of smartphones.
The Galaxy A devices now have four cameras. They include the main, ultra wide-angle, macro, and depth sensors. According to a recent report, the last model of the new models may disappear.
The Galaxy A24 is said to have sensors with resolutions of 50, 8 or 5 MP. The Galaxy A34 will receive the same set of sensors, but the main sensor will only be 48 MP. And the Galaxy A54 will receive sensors with resolutions of 50, 5 or 5 MP. This is a strange claim. The source may have made an error in the resolution of ultra-wide.
The depth sensor was abandoned because it is ineffective. The source claims that Samsung rated such a module as inappropriate for use.
