Radeon RX7900 XT’s graphics card is based on a small GPU. This is according to the standards for the class.
According to 2, the Navi 31 GPU die area measures only 350mm. Comparatively, Navi 21’s area is 520 mm 2. Navi 31 is similar in area to Navi 22, which runs the Radeon RX6700 XT. According to data available, the new GPU will also have six times as many stream processors. There is however no magic.
We recently discovered that Navi 31 is a unique GPU. Contrary to many early rumors and leaks it won’t be a 2-chip. The GPU will be monolithic, small and will have six MCD (Memory Complex Die), crystals around it. This is just cache memory. It’s placed in separate chips. Three of the six chips may have additional chips added to them using 3D V.Cache.
The package’s area or heat distribution cover may be approximately 590mm. 2which already matches class.
