In the near future, the last Apple PC will be moved to the Apple Silicon platform.
Mark Gurman, a journalist and insider, claims Apple is developing the M2 Extreme SoC to power the new Mac Pro. This is the last model of the Intel CPU-powered Apple PCs. The iMac Pro is also a well-known model, but Apple no longer sells it. It is not clear if this model will be available in a new version.
M2 Ultra and the M2 Extreme are two platforms being developed for the new Mac Pro. It is not clear if the M2 Extreme will consist of two M2 Ultras, but the M1 Ultra consists of two M1 Maxs. Apple’s new SoCs have only M2 so far.
The original data shows that the Mac Pro had 40 cores of processor and 128 cores of GPU. This is only twice the amount of the M1 Ultra.
