Qualcomm confirmed recent rumors, indicating that the Samsung Galaxy S23 line could be entirely or almost entirely dependent on the Snapdragon SoC.
The head of Qualcomm Cristiano Amon (Cristiano Amon) answered the question at the investor event. He spoke briefly but clearly.
It is simple: Snapdragon will support the Galaxy product line, their flagship Galaxy products. What I can tell you is that we were 75% prior to the agreement on the Galaxy S22. It is clear that we will do much better with the Galaxy S23 and beyond.
This multi-year agreement is in place. That’s all I can tell. It is hard to believe that they are powering their devices around the globe.
This means that if the current share of Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphones in the Galaxy S22 series is 75%, then it will be much higher in the Galaxy S23 range. This means that it could be 100% or less. It’s difficult to predict how profitable Samsung will make it financially to release the conditional SoC Exynos 22300, if it is included in the conditional 5% smartphones. It’s possible that the rumors about a shift to Qualcomm’s solution are true.
