Apple offers USB-C ports on all Macs, from the basic MacBook Air to the more powerful Mac Pro. These ports are also available for tablets such as the 2018 and later iPad Pro, 2020, and newer iPad Air, 6th-generation iPad mini, and several other devices. Apple also uses the USB-C port in the Magic Keyboard, Beats Flex headphones and charging cases for Beats Studio Buds, Beats Fit Pro, and Beats Flex headphones.
The future will see a wider range of devices. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims that at least one iPhone 15 model will get a USB-C port. Bloomberg editor Mark Gurman confirmed that Apple has indeed tested prototype iPhone models with USBC ports.
This is the latest information. Apple is rumored to be working on an update for the 10th generation iPad. The tablet will be available in September, and will most likely get a new port. It will also be featured on new AirPods models’ charging cases. We are referring to the second generation AirPods Pro that will be released towards the end of this year.
The new port could also receive a MagSafe Battery for iPhone 12 or newer. Kuo also stated that the Apple Magic Keyboard and Magic Trackpad accessories, as well as the Magic Mouse, will receive a new port.
We noted earlier that Kuo stated that the PS VR2 helmet was ready but Sony might delay its release until next year.
