Rocket Forces of the People’s Liberation Army of China posted a good evening wish to the Chinese citizens late last night on Weibo. It included a photo of the DF-17 hypersonic weapon.
The PLA is always trustworthy. Your faith in me is the trust of the motherland. In a brief entry, I said “Good night, little “fiery” friends!” Attached is a photo from the Tiananmen Square parade, which was held to commemorate the 70th anniversary since the founding of China’s People’s Republic of China. It shows more than ten DF-17 Launchers moving down Beijing’s Chang’anjie Avenue.
The DF-17 complex, a mobile medium-range missile launcher, is used to launch DF-ZF hypersonic glider. It can reach speeds of 6000-12000 km/h and can maneuver during flight.
China doesn’t like to promote its developments, particularly hypersonic ones. However, the DF-17 was officially “lit up” in 2019, although it is taking part in ongoing exercises for the first-time. China also wants to make clear that it isn’t happy with Nancy Pelosi’s planned Taiwan visit. China considers the demonstration of hypersonic weaponry, which are now on alert, to be the best argument for persuasion.
