Blizzard has canceled the mobile World of Warcraft, which was developed for three years

Blizzard has bad news to share with World of Warcraft players: the World of Warcraft mobile app has been cancelled. Bloomberg reported the news, citing “informed sources”.

This game was developed in collaboration with NetEase, a Chinese partner. The game was in development for three decades before funding conflicts halted it.

Bloomberg reports that the World of Warcraft mobile title was codenamed Neptune, and was meant to be a mobile spinoff.

Since 2008, NetEase and Blizzard have been partners. They co-developed Diablo Immortal. NetEase is also a member of Blizzard Overwatch League and publishes Blizzard Games such as Hearthstone, World of Warcraft in China, and World of Warcraft.
