Honor “devours” competitors faster than Huawei did in its time. The company is increasing sales in its home market at a tremendous pace

CINNO analysts estimated that the Chinese smartphone market was worth $2.5 billion for the quarter, half and full year.

When we look at half a year, the market plummeted by 16.9% to 134 millions devices. This is the worst half since 2015.

It is clear that Honor has continued its triumphant march through its native market and has been devouring its competitors within six months. It was able sell 22.3 million smartphones, surpassing Apple and more than twice its sales. Oppo was only about 100,000 phones away from it. Comparatively, Honor was more than three years behind Oppo a year prior.

The sales of all the other top five companies declined, but Apple’s 2.9% drop was still a positive result, with an overall decline of 16.9%.

The results for the quarter show that the situation is similar, with Apple leading, Honor in second, and Oppo closing the top three. The leaderboard in June was different. Honor was in fourth place, while Xiaomi was in second.

Nevertheless, it is clear that Oppo, Vivo, and Apple were both severely affected by the drop in demand. Honor, however, almost took the place of the competition.

Honor is aiming to be the market leader in 2022, even though it doesn’t have the iPhones that are due out this fall.
