Teska’s CEO reaffirmed past promises during a shareholder meeting. He stated that Tesla is moving closer to creating fully unmanned vehicles that can travel without the driver.
He also shared some disappointing news with shareholders, noting that Tesla plans to release the Cybertruck in 2023 but that it will not be able sell a car with the same specs and price as the one it introduced in 2019 when it launched an experimental pickup truck.
Musk stated that Cybertruck’s anticipated higher price was “impossible to predict.” He also said that Tesla will soon begin installation of production equipment at its Austin, Texas plant for Cybertruck production.
The Cybertruck single-motor was available for preorder at $39,900. The dual-motor Cybertruck started at $49,000. And the triple-motor Cybertruck started at $69,000.
We will reveal more details about the changes in the price and characteristics of the Cybertruck closer to its release.
