China for the first time demonstrated a missile similar to the DF-17 hypersonic weapon

China Central Television published a video showing the launch of a ballistic weapon that resembles a DF-17 hypersonic weapon on the eve of August 1st, 1995 (celebrated in August). Song Zhongping, a Chinese military expert, says that the PRC army demonstrated its combat capabilities in relation to Nancy Pelosi’s possible visit to Taiwan.

This launch is reminiscent of a hypersonic rocket.
” The PLA has shown its capabilities by declaring that it is ready to take any retaliatory actions if the US continues in provocations,” he was quoted as saying by the Chinese newspaper Global Times. According to the expert, Taiwan is considered an integral part of China and the PRC army ” strongly believes she can win the battle [zaostrov]”.

Song Zhongping stated, ” This missile can be launched independently at any time from any place. It is very versatile and maneuverable.”

He pointed out that the DF-17 could hit both stationary and slow moving targets. According to Chinese experts, these weapons can be used to attack aircraft carriers.

2019 DF-17’s debut show
China’s television had published an earlier video titled “The capabilities and troops of China in 81 seconds” that shows a rocket launch from a transport vehicle located in the desert along a freeway. These weapons look similar to the DF-17 hypersonic system, according to Chinese military experts. This parade was held on Beijing’s main street Chang’anjie to mark the 70th anniversary since the foundation of the People’s Republic.
