Hyundai and Kia have met in space. This is not a metaphor. Auto giants Hyundai and Kia have announced they will collaborate with different research institutes in order to create a lunar rover.
Third Party Concept
Hyundai and Kia will partner with six other partners in order to build the rover by August. Already, the companies have established an internal advisory group that will help to define the concept of this project.
These six partners include the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Korea Aerospace Research Institute(KARI), Korea Astronomy and Space Research Institutes (KASI), Korea Institute of Automotive Technology [KATECH], Korea Civil Engineering Institutes (KICT ), and the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institutes (ETRI). Some sources mention working with NASA. However, this appears to be an error.
