Although the Galaxy Z Flip 4 won’t be available before the summer, the next Samsung foldable smartphone has been confirmed by the Geekbench 5 benchmark.
We now have more information about the technical data sheet for the Galaxy Z Flip 4, just a few days after OnLeaks revealed the design with stunning renderings. Ice Universe shared the first benchmark of Samsung’s next foldable smartphone. It is equipped with a Qualcomm Chip yet to be revealed+. This benchmark confirms that the new Galaxy Z Flip 4 will use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ processor, contrary to previous leaks. This high-end chip was not manufactured by Samsung but by TSMC. The Galaxy Z Flip 4 is more powerful than the Galaxy S22 Ultra. This is due to the increased frequencies.
What are our thoughts on Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 scored 1277 points for one core and 3642 for multiple cores according to the benchmark. It is one of the fastest Android smartphones available. Geekbench reveals the Snapdragon 8 Generation 1 will use an 8-core configuration. This time, there will be one Cortex X2 at 3.19 GHz and three Cortex A710 at 2.75 GHz. There will also be four Cortex A510 at 1.8 GHz. These frequencies are significantly higher than the Snapdragon 8Gen 1.
According to a leaker on Weibo Qualcomm will announce a 10% increase of frequencies. However, 30% less energy consumption and 30% better energy efficiency Android smartphone makers want to produce smartphones that overheat less. This chip will be available in the next Galaxy Z fold 4. However, it may also be available from other manufacturers. It is likely that both OnePlus 10 Ultra, and the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be equipped with this chip.
