Apple Offers Record $2 Million Reward for iPhone Lockdown Hack

Apple will pay a $2 million cash reward to anyone who hacks the iPhone’s high-security mode. This is an industry record. Recall that Lockdown Mode is now a feature of iOS 16.

Apple created the iPhone’s enhanced security mode. It will be used if the iPhone owner believes that his smartphone has been targeted by surveillance or infected with Trojans. Lockdown Mode protects your smartphone from external interference. It blocks preview links and images attached to messages. Unknown numbers can also block FaceTime calls.

Apple announced Lockdown Mode at WWDC 2022, in June. Apple first attributed Lockdown Mode’s possible active users to journalists, activists, and civil servants.
